1. “Quick” chores don’t exist.
That 10-minute barn check will somehow turn into an hour. Whether it’s fixing a gate latch, re-hanging a hay net, or cleaning that one corner you swore you’d “get later,” horses have a way of expanding your to-do list.

2. Weather rules your life.
Too hot, too cold, too muddy, too buggy—there’s always something. You’ll check the forecast more often than your social media feed.

3. Hay math is its own subject.
You’ll start estimating how long your hay supplies will last, calculating flakes per horse per day, and still somehow run out two days early.

4. You will never stop worrying.
Is that limp new? Did they drink enough water? Was that cough normal? Horse owners develop a sixth sense for potential chaos, and still double-check everything anyway.

5. It’s 100% worth it.
Despite the mud, sweat, and late-night barn runs, nothing compares to the peace of a quiet barn, the nicker of a happy horse, and the satisfaction of knowing you’ve built a little slice of heaven right outside your door.
